Cryptonomicon fortune file

Cryptonomicon is an excellent novel written by Neal Stephenson. The book has a certain amount of geek-appeal, so I found it natural (while reading it the second time) to mark all quotable passages and later create a fortune collection for use on my homepage.

The collection can be downloaded by by clicking here. If you wish to use it on your own homepage, I recommend my PHP Fortune script.

It looked a hell of a lot like he was cutting up uncooked fish and putting the raw meat on bullets of rice and handing it over to the Nips on the other side of the counter, who were wolfing it down.
It had to be some kind of optical illusion. The fish must have been precooked ni the back room.
"I think it's clear," Randy said, "that if you are ignorant of a particular subject, that your opinion is completely worthless. If I'm sick, I don't ask a plumber for advice. I go to a doctor. Likewise, if I have a question about the Internet, I will seek opinions from people who know about it."
