Released version 0.3 of AdBlock.
This release was primarily based on the work of two contributors, while my own contribution mostly was to get their code
to work together.
Seeing other people take an interest in a project I've started is really great. Besides the spontaneous contributions,
the new release also received the honor of being announced
on the frontpage of MozillaZine. That really gives a feeling of time well spent on
the project.
P.S.: And no... It was not I who submitted the story to MozillaZine. It seems there are actually people out there using
AdBlock. ;)

No news, really, but I felt that it was about time to put some new stuff on this page.
I haven't been completely inactive, though. I've been doing some updates to Adblock,
which seems to have grown to be a popular add-on. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to give it as much attention
as I could wish due to lack of time.
Another small project was setting up the community-site of the Greek Youth Club.

Exams are coming up soon, which is a sure sign that I'll be doing a lot of stuff that is in no
way related to studies. :)
Recently turned my attention to the amazing browser Mozilla and its little
cousin Phoenix (which is about to get renamed
any day now). Customizing Mozilla is extremely easy with XUL, so I decided to try it out myself.
The result is AdBlock
which allows finegrained control of which images and flash-scripts to load. This makes it possible to remove obtrusive
advertising from webpages. Check it out and send me feedback and suggestions.

Played around with the XSL-capabilites of the server... and I love it! :) It's such a great way of rendering
webpages, in my opinion. The code doesn't get clogged up with endless amounts of text and content and it feels
much more like ordinary programming because of all the calls to templates. On the bad side, I must say that I
feel XSL has a pretty steep learning-curve for a web-language.
Check out the result, which is something that all webpages seem to have,
but which this one unfortunately has lacked so far... A LINK SECTION! Of course, it looks pretty ordinary,
and the functionality is not unique in any way. The magic is happening behind the scenes with the
XSL-stylesheet and the xml
bookmark-collection. I prefer it over my old PHP-based bookmark-system because of the flexibility in
the data-structure used to save the bookmarks. Adding another field to the datastrucutre of all or some of
the bookmarks is suddenly no big deal.
Be sure to click on the "Current headlines"-link next to Slashdot. Another clever possibility with XSL.:)
I've decided to scrap my crappy (uhmm... ok. Not THAT crappy!) PHP blog-script in favor of some XSL soon.
Biggest disadvantage to using XSL is that I don't have a web-based way of editing the contents-file. Instead I
have to download the file, edit it and upload it again. Hope to find something, which may replace that,
soon.
